How Tech49Originals handles personal information submitted through this website.
Last updated
This policy covers the Vanguard marketing website only. Handling of security telemetry collected from monitored customer environments is governed by the service agreement and data processing terms between your organisation and Tech49Originals, not by this policy.
Who we are
This website is operated by Tech49Originals, a technology company based in Windhoek, Namibia. Vanguard is our security operations platform.
For any question about this policy or about personal information we hold, contact us at info@tech49originals.com or +264 81 806 8136.
What we collect
We collect only what you actively submit through one of our enquiry forms. We do not require an account, and there is no customer login on this website.
- Contact form: your name, email address, organisation, optional phone number, and your message.
- Demo request: the above, plus your role, organisation size and what you are interested in.
- Quote request: the above, plus an approximate number of endpoints and servers if you choose to provide it.
What we do not collect
We want to be specific about this, because privacy policies are usually written to preserve options rather than to inform.
- We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not run advertising pixels.
- We do not sell, rent or share your information with third parties for their own marketing.
- We do not load third-party fonts, scripts or embedded content that would disclose your visit to another company. Fonts are served from our own domain for this reason.
- We do not build a profile of you across sessions or websites.
Why we collect it and on what basis
We use the information you submit for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and, where you have asked for one, to prepare a demonstration or a quote.
The basis for this is your own request. You provided the information in order to be contacted about it. If you later tell us you no longer wish to be contacted, we will stop.
We do not add enquiry contacts to a marketing mailing list without asking you separately.
Server logs and abuse prevention
Our hosting infrastructure records standard technical information for each request, such as the requesting network address, the page requested, and the time. This is ordinary web server operation and is used for security, abuse prevention and diagnosing faults.
We apply rate limiting to the enquiry forms, which temporarily counts submissions per network address. This counter holds no personal information beyond the address itself and is discarded automatically.
Our enquiry forms use a hidden field and a signed timestamp to detect automated submissions. Neither technique reads anything about you or your device beyond what you type into the form.
How long we keep it
Enquiry correspondence is retained for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any resulting business relationship, and thereafter for a reasonable period for record-keeping purposes.
If you ask us to delete your enquiry and there is no legal or contractual reason to retain it, we will do so.
Who else sees it
Enquiries are delivered to Tech49Originals staff by email. To do that we use an email delivery provider, which processes the message in order to send it.
We do not otherwise disclose your information, except where we are legally required to do so.
Security
This website is served over encrypted connections only. Enquiry submissions are validated and sanitised on the server before being processed, and are transmitted as plain text so that no submitted content can be interpreted as markup by a mail client.
Where a submission fails, we log the failure without the content of the submission, so that our application logs do not become a secondary store of personal information.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details above and we will respond.
You are not required to submit anything through this website. Our email address and phone number are published on the contact page if you would rather reach us directly.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date shown above. Namibia is in the process of enacting data protection legislation, and we expect to revise this policy when that framework comes into force.
